Personality Spectrums & Reason — The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian
Personality system in Prince Jerian — Reason/Feelings, Will/Blood, Love/Law spectrums and Reason mechanics.
Jerian's personality uses three interconnected spectrums, each totaling 10 points split between opposing traits: Reason vs Feelings, Will vs Blood, Love vs Law. Shifting one point toward Will reduces Blood by one. Extreme specialization unlocks thematic options while blocking contradictory ones.
Reason vs Feelings
Reason-heavy Jerian acts logically and suppresses emotion — strong for Law and governance but may struggle with compassion scenes. Feelings-heavy Jerian empathizes deeply — better for relationship routes but may conflict with harsh imperial decisions.
Will vs Blood
Will represents personal freedom and Jerian's own desires. Blood represents family duty and Blood Tide loyalty to living and ancestral Tempests. High Blood aligns with imperial tradition; high Will supports personal autonomy even against family.
Love vs Law
Love prioritizes individuals and mercy. Law prioritizes order, Lots, and imperial code. The Justice and Compassion childhood scene seeds this spectrum early.
Reason Stability (5 units)
Reason tracks mental stability separate from the Reason/Feelings spectrum. Contradicting your established personality costs Reason points. At zero, self-harm endings trigger. Sanity resource lets you take one mismatched action without Reason loss.
