Relationships
Relationships — The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian
Relationship system in Prince Jerian — NPC trust scale, family, romance, and political allies.
Individual characters track relationship from -2 (hostile) to +5 (trusted). Family (Utter II, Servilia, Cornelius, Gaius, Flavius, Ferdinand), childhood friends (Emil, Martha), advisors (Orgrif, Condorce), and three romance interests all influence available scenes.
Family Dynamics
Cornelius pushes reform — opposing him closes strategic paths but pleases traditionalists. Gaius offers chess-scene mentorship — relationship investment unlocks estate mediation help. Ferdinand (human bastard brother) creates Lesser Branch storyline with Servilia.
Flavius holds different views on Arknian vs Tempest propriety — can become ally or rival.
Romance
Three female romance interests. Deep bonds alter personality and unlock private scenes. Jerian has no offspring per developer confirmation. Romance choices interact with Will/Blood and Reason stability.
Dynamic Antagonists
Developers state any character can become friend or foe depending on your crossing them. No fixed villain — Egerius Monrog, Orgrif, or even family may oppose you based on prior choices.
