Demo Save Transfer — The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian

Schisma Games and 101XP confirmed in their July 20, 2026 Steam launch announcement: "If you've already played the demo, we have good news for you—you can continue your journey from your demo save without having to start over." This guide explains how demo-to-full-game transfer works and what to verify before Chapter 3.

Previously, many players (and this wiki) assumed demo and full game used separate save files because they are separate Steam apps. The official launch post clarifies that the full release integrates demo progress natively.

How to Transfer Your Demo Save

Purchase and install the full game: The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian (Steam App ID 2936290).

Do not uninstall the demo (App ID 3131940) before launching the full game — Steam needs both installed for save detection in some configurations.

Launch the full game from your Steam library. Your demo progress at the end of Chapter 2 (The Heir) should appear as a continue option.

No manual file copying required. Steam Cloud may sync saves if enabled on both apps.

What Carries Over

Skill levels (Management, Scholarship, Diplomacy) from Chapters 1–2.

Personality spectrums — Reason, Will/Blood, Love/Law investments from childhood and heir scenes.

Relationship scores with Cornelius, Martha, Emil, family members, and early estate contacts.

Empire parameter leanings established in demo Affairs and key events.

Chapter 1–2 achievement progress if earned in demo (verify in full-game achievement list).

What to Verify After Import

Open the completed-event record and confirm critical Chapter 1–2 outcomes — especially Tempest family choices and River of Blood resistance if planning a reformer route.

Check skill and personality values match your intended playthrough. Imported saves lock in demo decisions; some route-specific achievements may already be missed or secured.

Create a manual save immediately after confirming import state — before starting Chapter 3. Community guides recommend chapter-start saves before Chapters 2, 4, and 5 minimum.

If save does not appear, verify both apps are updated, Steam Cloud is enabled, and you completed through Chapter 2 in the demo.

Starting Fresh vs Continuing

Continue demo save if: you liked your Jerian build, want to reach Chapter 3 quickly, or are mid-achievement planning with specific early choices locked in.

Start fresh if: you want a different personality concept, missed critical route flags in demo, or prefer a clean achievement run. Use New Game from the full-game menu.
